When you have a “gizmo Jones”, like I do, you are always on the prowl for your next purchase. That’s how I discovered arepas, for you see, some people use a gizmo to make arepas. That would be a surprise to many in South America, their natural home.
So… I bought one. To be sure, you do NOT need one. A pan works just fine, though I must say, I like the way this machine creates an arepa that is as uniform and useful as an English Muffin.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cooked quinoa
- 1 1/4 cup masa harina (pre cooked cornflour)
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- oil, for frying
Gizmos Used:
Nonstick 12” Electric Griddle – Pancake Maker, Batter Spreader, Wooden Spatula – Crepe Pan for Roti, Tortilla, Blintzes – Portable, Compact, Easy Clean – I use this thing almost every day. I rarely used a pan anymore.
